| Condition: | TH - engine unit BMW 801F/385003. |
| Production fan Vo 39. |
| Wooden air screw 9-30342.10. |
| Armament: 2 MG 131, 4 MG 151 without ammunition. |
| Actuated inner wheel doors. |
| Rudder bell crank for 20° rudder deflection (r=210 mm). |
| Program: |
| 1. | Ram pressure calibration of the test course. |
| 2. | Check of level speeds with the F-engine prior to transfer of the aircraft to Rechlin. |
| 3. | Determination of the lift-off revolutions in a take-off with fixed air screw. |
| Results: |
| 1. |
For the verification of the airspeed indicator calibration already done on 21.7.43 the ram pressure calibration was repeated on 27.3.44. Comparisons between the two measurements (see
flight report Nr. 1) show, that no significant change of the error occured.

| 2. |
The attached chart shows the level speed plot up to 8000 m with combat power (n = 2500 rpm). The plotted values take ram pressure calibration and compressibility into account and are compared
to the speeds flown with Fw 190 / V 34 (flight report 1). Below full throttle height the installation of 2 MG 131 and 4 MG 151 leads to a speed loss of ~ 10 mph (16 km/h). The additional
losses of 4./ . 5 mph (7 ./. 8 km/h) above full throttle height in low supercharger gear and ~ 11 mph (18 km/h) above full throttle height in high supercharger gear are to be attributed
to the considerably lower full throttle heights of the engine of No. 816. Since both speed plots were flown with the production fan Vo 39, the engine 385003 is probably equipped with a notedly
poor supercharger for an F-engine. |
| 3. |
With a basic setup 25° = 1240 the following revolutions resulted with the wooden airscrew 9-30342.10 on the F-engine with a production fan: |
|
Airscrew set up 1200: Stationary n = 2420 rpm |
|
Lift off n = 2610 rpm |
|
After flaps up and gear in n = 2780 rpm |
|
The airscrew therefore catches up rapidly, so that after take off with 1200 setting it has to be adjusted to higher pitch already during the retraction of the landing gear. |
|
Note: The aircraft has been transferred to test center Rechlin on 8.4.44. |
